This is a charming 1939 home in Northeast DC near Trinity College that needed to be brought into the 21st century. The original small kitchen was reconfigured by rerouting stairs to the basement, allowing for a new island and room for a table.
All existing windows were replaced and new glass was installed in the back porch. With no existing central air, an innovative, ductless central heating and air conditioning system was installed. This system allowed for each room to have individual temperature control panels without the need to add ducts throughout the house.
Finally, a new roof was installed and a parking space was added in the alley.
